Editorial policy

Green Avenue aims to describe urban plants and planted spaces accurately, with enough context for readers to understand what can and cannot be concluded from a general explanation. We separate established information from interpretation and correct errors openly.

Accuracy and context

We check factual claims against suitable reference material before publication and avoid presenting a single example as universal. Plant names, growing conditions, and public-space practices can vary by place. When a detail is uncertain or depends on local conditions, we say so rather than dressing a guess as a rule.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for relevance to readers, not to satisfy a commercial partner. We do not promise favourable coverage in exchange for payment, access, products, or other consideration. Contributors must disclose relevant interests so they can be assessed and, where needed, clearly stated.

Corrections

Readers can report an error through the Contact page. We review correction requests, check the relevant claim, and amend material when warranted. Significant factual changes receive a clear correction note; minor edits for spelling or clarity may be made without one.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid, gifted, or partner-supported material is identified clearly where it appears. A commercial relationship does not determine editorial conclusions. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when used, they are labelled and are not presented as documentary photographs of a real place or species.
